Akiko and Masako TAKADA were born in Tokyo in 1978. These identical twins live in Tokyo and work as an artist unit, creating work that poses questions about perception of time and scale through the changes they make to everyday objects. Since completing their Master of Fine Art at the Slade School of Fine Art in London, they have exhibited widely in Japan, including “Criterium 78” (2010, Art Tower Mito), “Big Minis” (2010, Bordeaux Museum of Contemporary Art), “Being-in-the-Wired-World” (2013, Kawasaki City Museum), “MOT Annual 2014: Fragments, Incomplete Beginnings” (2014, Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo), “Irises & Red and White Plum Blossoms – Korinʼs Art / Korin & Japanese Modern Art” (2015, MOA Museum of Art), “Waiting for spring – Towards a landscape changing color” (2015, Towada Art Center), and “Listening to the Lines” (2015, Maison Hermès, Le Forum).
